Every Redcliffe giclée print comes with a free 25mm paper border as standard — with the option to go wider for framing, mounting, or signing your editions.
When you order a giclée print at a given size, we add an extra 25mm of unprinted paper all the way around, at no extra cost. That border is a small detail that makes a big difference to how your print looks and handles — it's the kind of thing that elevates a print from "a printout" to "a piece of art".
You can opt out if you really want a borderless print, or opt up to a 50mm or 75mm border for larger frames, deeper mounts, or room for a hand-signed edition number. Whatever you choose, the image size stays exactly as you ordered it — the border is added around it.
A paper border isn't just padding. It plays three important roles when your print meets a frame, a mount, or a signature.
When your print is framed, the border creates breathing room between the image and the frame edge — a gap that lets the eye settle on the artwork instead of butting up against the mount.
For limited editions, the border gives you space to sign, number, and title the work in the traditional way — "7/50" on the left, title centre, signature right — without any of it crossing onto the image itself.
If your print will sit behind a window mount, the border gives the mount something to overlap onto — essential for a clean presentation and long-term conservation of the image area.
Order a 420 × 300mm print with the standard 25mm border, and the sheet you receive measures 470 × 350mm — your image size, plus 25mm of unprinted paper all the way around.
